Bio

You could say that illustrator Bill Schieber has been preparing to enter the wildlife art arena his entire life.

A Michigan native and avid hunter and angler, Bill has a keen sensitivity to the beauty of the out-of-doors. A rare talent allows Bill to transcribe the beauty he sees in nature using a unique technique-individually and painstakingly burning each image onto Buckskin. While originally a means of personal expression, the encouragement of family and friends and Bill's experience as an entrepreneur and businessperson have encouraged him to turn his hobby into a new career in wildlife art.

Bill places himself squarely in the life-like scenes he envisions, the complementary blending of wildlife and landscapes. The fanciful, humorous, dramatic and serene are well within his grasp, as illustrated by the scenes he creates. Bill explains, "I use photographs and drawings, not to reproduce exactly but to allow me to recall feelings and memories that I can retrieve from my mind and put into my work. The photos and sketches also provide reference for texture and structure."

Bill adds that big game, moose, elk and deer are of particular interest to him as subjects, although he has portrayed Native Americans and scenes of the Southwest. While Bill modestly states that he would like to perfect his method and bring to those whom, like him, enjoy and cherish the out-of-doors.

If you have a subject that you would like captured by this rare technique and Bill's artistry, contact us. Bill will custom-design upon request.
